Endeavor teamed up with Midland Independent School District (MISD) to participate in National Read Across America Day in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Nearly 150 employees volunteered to take part in the program, reaching more than 5,000 Midland ISD students across 144 different classrooms in grades K-6.

Established by the National Education Association in 1998, National Read Across America Day aims to help kids excited about reading and brings students, teachers, and community members together. Each Endeavor volunteer opportunity lasted 30 minutes and volunteers read classic books to students such as Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? and The Lorax.

“It’s a privilege to be able to share the love of reading with MISD elementary students,” said Anita Gamertsfelder, executive director of the Midland Education Foundation. “Helping to create lasting memories these children is a priority for us, and the time donated by our volunteers will do just that.”

Thank you to all of our volunteers for supporting the children in our community through this important event. Endeavor is committed to investing in local schools to ensure a bright future for students of Midland.
