The Endeavor team was proud to support the Midland Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 State of Midland signature networking luncheon. The Midland business community gathered at the Midland County Horseshoe to hear a keynote from US Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11).

Prior to the keynote, the 2022 Wynn Award was presented to Secretary Don Evans, the former (34th) US Secretary of Commerce and current Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) Chairman. For decades, Secretary Evans has made exceptional contributions serving the Midland community, from leading PSP to the Midland Horseshoe’s development.

Congressman Pfluger’s core theme was “Midland is resilient, renewed, and ready” to address global energy concerns. He noted, “Texas is leading in solutions to problems – and Midland is the epicenter.” His keynote emphasized the contributions of Midland’s industry, noting that the Permian provides affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy and is a vital player in energy security for the US and its allies.

“The hardworking, honest grit and wildcatter spirit of Midland is easy [for me] to represent in DC,” Pfluger said. But he left the audience with a call to action: “We need to educate and spread the word about what we – the Permian – does. Energy makes life better for the rest of the world.”

Following the keynote, the audience was given a Q&A open-mic opportunity with Congressman Pfluger, moderated by Kate Williamson, Board Chair for the Midland Chamber (2021-22) and Executive Director for the Shepperd Leadership Institute.

We warmly thank the Midland Chamber for hosting this annual luncheon to give our business community the opportunity to hear from authority figures on current issues impacting Midland.
